idle won't drop until I come to a complete stop

especially with the AC on.

what should I monitor to figure out whats up?

I know to look for vacum leaks and I have done that.

What other things cause the hanging idle.

maybe the TB hole is too large? Is the TB closing all the way? has it always done this or did it just start?

Blackbird May 3, 2004 02:26 PM

used to only do it after I went into boost.
now it's doing it consistantly.

maybe grew a little leak...probably somewhere in the intake path...maybe intake to heads seals???

how much boost you running??

It's a feature. Trottle cracker makes it stay up until
you get below the speed threshold.

Throttle Cracker is disabled at and below 2 MPH - in all the stock PCMs I've seen.

Country Boy - you probaby need to reduce your Idle Air (aka RAF) values at 60*C and above.

Blackbird - IMO- if this is a new issue and you haven't made recent mods to your car...then I would look for a reason ( intake tract leak?) outside of tuning. Tuning will mask it.
