Narrowband O2 sensor issue

So I had a bad O2 sensor and replaced it. Old one would read bounce between 443 and 447 on HP Tuners. This is for the drivers front bank 1. Replaced it with an OEM GTO sensor, cut the rectangular plug off and soldered it to the square plug, heat shrink and convoluted plastic tubing. worked great for about 3 miles. drove it easy the first two then hammered it for about 1/4 mile to 110MPH. I get it home and check the log, about 40 seconds after I hammered it, the new sensor started bouncing between 443 and 447 millivolts just like the one I just replaced. didn't touch it again till tonight. Hooked up HP Tuners and the O2 sensor is reading accurately again. I haven't ran it yet just curious why it would fail when the sensor gets hot and if its something other than an O2 sensor that would cause this. The car is a 99 SS Camaro btw.

Could the O2 sensor wires be picking up heat from the headers and cause this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Stephen

Are you seeing any immature O2 sensor codes, and have
you disabled any codes as anything other than 3 / Enabled,
No Error Reported? This response you indicate, is what
happens when the PCM find some sort of fault.
