Winter project: 5.3 turbo install in 96 Z28. Baseline tune?
 

Hi guys, I found a good deal on a 5.3. Putting ARP studs in it for now but will be using a 2 bar (or 3 bar if the PCM/tune supports it) speed density tune for either my current PT76GTS or still-in-box twin GT35's. I just downloaded EFILive's version 8.2.2 build 258.

I've tuned my LT1 over the years with LT1 Edit, Tunercat and now Tunerpro so I'm conceptually familiar with tuning a 2 bar speed density engine.

Do you have a baseline speed density tune or know where I can get one so I can start looking at the tuning parameters? The engine won't go in till later this winter. The turbo LT1 is still going strong at this point. I would be willing to paypal some money for such a tune.

I found a site for stock tunes so I'm going to use that to at least have a look around within EFILive.

I suggest starting with a stock file

Apply 2/3 bar os and copy the 105 kpa section into 110 kpa + areas the the add 10% from 110 kpa to 150 kpa and 15% from 155 to 210kpa and 20% from 215 kpa on (if 3 bar)


Put your injector data in the file and set the file up for sd tuning and start tuning it

Thank you sir :) I've pulled up a stock tune and I'm going thru the screens, trying to equate what I know (Lt1 Tunerpro) with the EFILive. I see some correlations but, understandably, some are much more expansive in the EFILive. I have the injector data sheet for my Bosch 127#(@4bar) so I can get that plugged in. Where would I get the 2/3 bar Operating system? Is that from a vendor? I'll look for that via google and see if I hunt it down. Thanks for the recommendations though. That is how I started on tunerpro, etc and my LT1 is a spot on 2bar Speed density tune now. I foresee a lot of reading in the near term, :)
