BCM and ECM gurus's

I'm working on a 1998 Trans Am. I need to eliminate the ECM all together and keep the BCM working. Can the BCM work without the ECM?

I am not using any of the ECM on this vehicle, example: this vehicle as a traditional Pontiac 400 so no ECM is needed. I understand that the gauges in the 1998 can be wired directly to the sending units. With that being said I need to eliminate as much unnecessary wiring. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
David

If you delete the PCM the Fuel gauge, speedo, ABS and traction control will stop working.
Even if it's carbed you can leave the PCM with minimal wiring to keep the class2 network alive and the gauges working. Tach will be a problem since it's fed from the PCM but everything else will work

I have deleted the ABS, so I'm not worried about that one.
I just want to thin it out some.
Thanks for the help.
Anyone else with any thoughts ???

If you want to clean the engine bay, you can relocate the PCM under the dash and keep it alive.
If you don't need fuel gage and speedo, delete it completely.
