Anyone willing to help me with EFI LIVE issue with torque converter lockup? 01 LS
I just recently became the owner of a 2001 Trans Am that was a little more modified than I am normally used to getting. I like to buy stock and do my own mods but I couldn't pass up this deal.
Anyways the full info is here, I also asked for some help here but after seeing this forum this may be more appropriate here.
https://ls1tech.com/forums/pontiac-f...can-drive.html
The PROBLEM is that this was tuned for pretty much interstate driving. So the lockup isn't set to come in until almost 65 mph. Well with this 3600 stall and me only driving on 45-55 mph roads and well over 20 miles from an interstate, it poses a problem. It just isn't that joyful to drive right now. It feels great once the converter locks up but for normal cruising around it sucks so far. I know I still have to learn to drive with this converter.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. I purchased the vin to tune it, I have EFI live and flashscan v2, it was previously tuned by HPtuners but wasn't locked.
It has ASA Cam, 3600 stall and 3.73 gears. Other suspension, exhaust mods as well.
Pretty much anyone willing to hold my hand on this?

I don't know the number of the tables in EFI Live, but it should be the lockup/TCC tables. Use the following:

Is that the stock setup or something? Like I said, now it locks up at 62ish or so but comes out real easy, even the slightest hill it feels like.
I need it for 45mph-55mph driving. I have 3.73 gears instead of the stock 2.73 or 3.23
I would gladly send you my number for further hand holding! I plan to go out and spend my lunch at work 11:30-12:30 EST trying to change it.

Here is a stock 2001 F-body 3.23 geared file that I changed to 3.73 and let the software rescale all the shift and lock up tables based on the gear change. After doing this with EFI Live it made me glad that I use HP Tuners 99.9999% of the time instead of this software.

Yes I am using 8. I updated it last night. I made the changes though in 7.5 or whatever.
So I changed the values like Jake posted and did a Cal-flash and thought it was good to go, but I wanted to see if the changes were saved after I flashed it but it wouldn't read again. So I just took it for a drive and it doesn't seem like it made my changes at all.
In hindsight, I shoulda just got HP tuners. A lot more help with using it vs efi live.

The new format for efi live is .ctz if you save a tune it will save it into the new format.
It all depends what you consider help on which one is better, the hpt forum has more people and post but also has more useless information to weed through. If you post a tune and log and are actually looking for help I find 99% of the time you'll get help regardless of what software you're using. For me its easier to help people with efi live online since I dont have to license the file to make changes.

I don't plan to change up though. I like efi live in every other aspect.
I appreciate all help. I just got to find out why my changes didn't save. However, I can't work on it until later after work today but if you are willing you could message me your number and I could call later or text for some assistance?

For now, what is making it a pain to drive is the lock up.
I think also on the AFR, it has a code for the bank 1 sensor 1 O2 sensor so it may be bad.

I finally got to accept the change.. Or it may have been accepting it all along but it didn't change anything really. I don't know if there is more I need to change or what. It did lockup once around 55 and stayed locked up a reasonable amount of time instead of falling out at the slightest change.

Really? I have a P0300 code for a random misfire because of the cam. So are you sure on this? That is an interesting piece of information. Also, I have a code for bank 1 sensor 1 o2 sensor P0154 which is low input or not reading it or something. I have a new delco AFS123 02 sensor on the way.

Absolutely.
Misfire will keep the TC from locking to protect the transmission.
It'll do it even if you don't throw the code but still "detects" some amount of misfire. There's a threshold for the code, but the TCC is lower than the code threshold. I had to max out all my misfire values to get my TC to lockup.
