Hey guys,

I read through all the pages about putting ls3 into body, but I'm not clear about some issue with the sensor. Here are my questions and please help before I dropped the engine in. My engine is a l92 converted to ls3 ext ext .I swapped the reluctor wheel to 24x.

1. Timing cover kit.
I bought this

the discussion on the thread stated that i need earlier model cam sprocket and earlier model ls2 cam sensor to work on my 411 cpm like this one http://www.lingenfelter.com/mm5/merc...9#.VbTVjutbkUU
The parts # correlates with the one discussed.

So do I need to get a different cam sensor or will it work with the harness that I bought on ebay using the timing cover kit that I bought?

2. Map Sensor
Some people said that the ls3 map sensor will not work. Some said it will with the harness that I bought.

That's the right part for the timing cover.
According to this the newer tan sensor will also work on the 1x reluctor wheel. You also need the 1x cam gear if ya don't already have it. It looks like this:

You cant use the LS3 MAP sensor. Its not plug & play anyway, which means it requires some tuning. Its best to use the LS1 MAP. You can cut a piece of 3/8 clear hose & slide it over the end of the MAP then it will seal up in the LS3 intake & make a bracket so it stays in the intake. Youll need an extension harness for the MAP sensor. This is what mine looks like.

Awesome man thanks! I have the 1x cam gear. And I'm using two piece timing cover. I just wanna make sure that I can use the sensor that comes with the timing kit before I put all the accessories drive togather and ended up throwing a code.

How do you make a bracket for the ls1 map sensor?

I just found a piece of scrap metal at work. Cut it, formed it with a vise & pliers & drilled a hole for the mounting bolt & painted it. The MAP sensor extension harness I bought on ebay.
