I'd love to get away from Portland. My nice quiet calm city is no longer that way. Traffic is a freaking disaster.
But, like my old house and the fact that I have two drag strips close.

I'm sure there are plenty of areas in eastern OR to do some effective street tuning. Which is the biggest part of a good tune.

For the guys who need the "numbers", you will need a dyno.

Get that nova going!

Default Ron?

Hi, I just found this message board and I'm looking for Ron, I am not very good at computers. If this is him perhaps you would let me know and I will explain my problem and see if it's something you're interested in trying to fix. Thanks, Walt

Default LS 3 idle problems

Hi Ron, thanks for getting back with me, I've read lots of good things about you. Reader's digest version of what's going on. 2017 I bought all new from Jegs, LS3 495 hp. 4L70E both units came with new GM controllers (I know hindsight) I'm quite sure you know Tommy Wong, Wong's performance in Vancouver. He's been working on this on and off for the last 3 years. The problem is idle. He can adjust it and it will go up. And he can adjust it to go down but it will not go past 8:50 to 8.75. have you encountered this problem? According to the internet there's a lot of people with this problem. The idle needs to be about 700 to 750. I don't want to take up too much of your time so, I will stop here and see what you say. Thanks once again for trying to help me out. Walt

Yes, it is another panel truck. not the one you've already worked on. Mine's a 58. Weird huh.

Hey Walt. So either you have 2 of them or there is another Walt.

I worked a Dings when I tuned on one.

Anyway, I remember the issue so I looked it up. Guys on HPT say you need to find a 430 HP crate tune and write that in, then retune. I gather GM changed something with the 480 and 525 HP tunes and you can’t set idle speed.
But you can for the 430hp tune.

971-235-six oh four oh if you want to chat

Ron
