ECM won't shift after programming. 2002 ls6-corvette, and 99 4l60e from Camaro. Both put in 84 corvette. I had the transmission checked...mechanically it's fine. This combo is awesome except it's only working as a manual trans. If I leave in drive it takes off in second and acts like the the trans is in limp home mode. If I manually start in 1, then 2nd,etc...it hauls. What should I do? I have a scanner but not a programmer. Do I send it back for the second time to the same guy who did the initial flash, or send to someone else or buy a new ECM and have it flashed (keep this for one the track, as my manual trans setup, hehehe). This was supposed to be a weekend cruiser, and the lack of shifting is a pain. |
Without knowing more about the PCM and what it was flashed with (vehicle type), who knows. |
^Right. And then we need to scan/log what gear is commanded by the PCM and what position the PCM thinks the shifter is in. Any trans shop will have a good scanner that can perform those operations. BTW - Limp mode on the 4L60E is 3rd gear, not 2nd gear. |
If 2002 ls6 tune was put in the pcm it would be a manual. There are a lot of variables to this and more info is needed but i would check what the pcm comes up as in the scanner. |
I have the same thing going on. Starts in 2nd., No 3rd. or OD. My ECM and TCM don't seem to communicating. Frustrating! |
