Default 1997 S-10 stock tach ppr?

Setting up a 4.8 for swap and having trouble finding the ppr for the factory tach. The truck had a 4.3 5 speed.

Thanx in advance for any help

Ok then does anyone know if it's a four cylinder tach or six?

Trying to calculate the setting for the 0411 6 or 4 I know it's possible just wanted to get it right the first time. 6 and 4 are the tach settings in the software 6 is a four cylinder output and 4 a six. Go figure.

That's because it's the number it divides 24 pulses by, if you divide 6 into 24 you get 4, if you divide 4 in to it you get 6 if you divide 3 into it you get 8

Mine is a 94 that came with a 4.3, and mine is set to 4. It is very, very close, maybe 100-150rpms off.

The tach if I had slowed down and thought about it...😁 was connected to the coil of the 4.3 so it is a six cylinder tach. So the setting was four. Thanks for the input! Truck runs great and makes an excellent every day driver.

Not sure about taking on any mustangs but the roughly 300 horse with the 5 speed is loads of fun to drive and everything works just like before including abs etc... The 97 is an odd ball so I was really happy to see it all work right the first time.

Just in case anyone has the same problem. We switched to an after market fuel gauge and needed a 0-90 ohm sender (stock for 97 s10 is 40-250) after reading a bunch of articles and how to's some good some silly. We found out the 1996 s10 / Sonoma has a 0-90 sender that clips right in problem solved. Just need to re-pin the connecter plug no big deal. This sender will probably fit most late model pump buckets as well.

Best regards

In hptuners my tach outputs high and low res are set to 3 for my 1992 chevy c1500 pickup tach. That is from a 1999 pcm 5.3 truck.
