What kind of process is required when switching from 2 bar SD to 3 bar SD tune - HPT
Like the title says, I am currently running a self tuned 2 bar SD tune with HPtuners on my turbo 5.3. I'm finally ready to put my big boy pants on and up the boost, and considering I'm at 15 psi already, I need to go to a 3 bar tune. I'm just curious what exactly is required for the change over regarding tuning? I really hope I don't need to completely re-tune the thing again in normal vacuum. And will I need to dish out another $100 to HPT for the OS change? I'd like to have all my ducks in a row before going through with this. Thanks all.

I am no expert, but here is what I think. As far as changing to your 3 bar, that will depend on your OS. I run a truck ecm in mine, and since it is older, the upgrades are free, so I can go from a MAF to 2 bar to 3 bar, and not spend credits.
You should be able to just take your 2 bar, apply the 3 bar upgrade, and as long as your tune is good, keep it, make sure your MAP is reading 3 bar correctly, and then continue your tune past the 2 bar mark.
I am going to have to read your build thread, that car looks beautiful. I am a little surprised by your times though, I would have expected a better time, or mph at least. It seems ~6-7mph slower than I would have expected at those #'s, but there are a lot of variables involved.
