Tuned something different

Boat has twin 598 Chevy big blocks with PSI blowers. On low boost it went 158mph off of GPS at maybe 3/4 throttle. Its pretty impressive how fast it can accelerate. Each engine makes 1650hp on race gas and full boost.

Did you go for a spin in it? The big dog on our lake is over 180 mph.....

LSX Power Tuning 08-03-2016 01:35 AM

Yes we had to go out in it to tune it. The boat is really fast and very impressive, it has been 190mph turned all the way up and on race gas.

That's a fast fckin boat!

You are very brave, I'm skeered :D Mostly DCB around here.

What feedback do you use to quantify your changes? Just rate of accelation?

LSX Power Tuning 08-08-2016 10:05 AM

The boat had some issues with idle, air fuel was off and it burned up a couple pistons on the old tune. These are all out race motors in a boat. They mainly wanted a safe tune and the idle and air fuel fixed, not necessarily more performance. When we were tuning it we were gaining mph at the same rpm so it was gaining performance as a byproduct of getting the tune cleaned up.

Race Gas ?
I bet that boat burns 50 gallons per MINUTE.

It was ran 100% on race gas, we turned down the boost and mixed in some pump gas. It goes through about $1000/day in fuel playing around.
