Truck or car OS for 411 swap

Hello, So some of the swap projects I have worked on want a stockish computer setup (as opposed to megasquirt etc).
With 411 PCM's being cheap at the junkyard now they are a viable option. The tuning out of the VATs etc needs to be done, and I am looking at getting HP tuners for that. From what I understand, Any junkyard 411 can be flashed with any LSx file, Car or truck (24x). Even if the PCM came from a V6 S10 for example. This will cost 2 credits right ?

If I was to consider the unlimited licence for gen3 vehicles, car or truck, cost 30 credits each. Is there any advantage to going with one or the other ? Car or truck. Seems they both can run 24x engines but are there some advantages to one over the other ?

as long as u get a 411 PCM u can swap it for a any tune file as long as the OS matches. Doesn't matter if its car or truck. Takes 2 credits for tune a GM.

01 or 02 Camaro is a good starting point.
Cable throttle.

Truck tunes are odd.

I guess my question should have been more simple :

Can I take ANY junkyard 0411 and flash a Camaro file onto it ? How many credits will that cost ?

The HP tuners forum wont let me post there. Weird. Guess they don't want to sell anything.

yes u can do that. IT will take 2 credits. a total of $100.

0411 PCM come in the 2002 model trucks.

For the most part you can flash any 896 or 411 pcm to any 99-02 tune, truck or car. We personally for swaps usually always flash them to over to 2002 and use OS 12212156. That OS is a great starting point and also gives you all the options you want for segment swaps if needed. The type of harness you have will determine if I use a car or truck tune.

Thanks for the advice guys. I am thinking I am going to send this unit to someone who knows what they are doing so I don't brick it/burn up a bunch of credits. I have seen conflicting things about how many credits it actually costs.
I tried to post on the HPTuners forum, Created account but wont let me post, says Mod must approve me first. Been some days now. Is that the customer service ?
I may have a barely used HP tuner interface for sale soon if that how things go.

With HP Tuners you always have to have a license for the file in the PCM and the file you are writing to it. If you don't own a bunch of model year licenses you will likely be using 4 credits.

I don't think u need license for another file. U can go into the tune repository and copy over a tune. Or use the segement swapper tool that is now included in the 3.4 version for u to do yourself. instead of emailing support and asking them to. The OS has to match for either engine or trans for the segment swapper. that's y lsx power tuning mentioned the OS that has the most common segments
