Default Built 6.0 for 25$

Hello everyone, my first post to these forums. Own an 87 mustang was a 351w turbo car blew that a few months ago went to a local "dynowars" and won this engine on a raffle. Working with justa long block (317 heads pac 1218's new valves) Been doing tons of research to get an idea of what ill need and the most intimidating part is finding all of these parts at a decent cost. I plan to install a 4l80e . So i cannot get my head wrapped around the wiring harness of this and pcm What year vehicle has a harness with a 4l80e /6.0 24x plugs or who supplys them? would i need a pedal for a drive by cable setup? Cam options for boost, converter options , go full manual or computer controlled ? Any information is super appreciated, just an old ford guy looking to make some real power!

Here is the pinout on the wiring harness:

Remove unwanted wires. The rest is pretty straight forward, just go through them one at a time. You can get away without modifying the harness hardly at all if you want. Just cut off un-needed connectors, hack of the fuse panel connector and firewall connectors and run all of those wires into the interior, then fuse them and run to gauges/whatever else they go to.

Any automatic 99-04 6.0 is going to have been bolted to a 4L80e from the factory. Grab a stock harness. A 4.8/5.3 harness with a 4L60e connector works too. It takes ~15 minutes or so to convert it to a 4L80e harness. You'll just need a spare VSS connector. You can buy them for $8 or steal them from another harness.

If you have a regular cable gas pedal, just grab a 99-07 truck throttle cable from the junk yard.
Drive-by-wire is a little more complicated and you'll need a matching Pedal/TAC/TB/PCM so that they all work properly.

Computer controlled 80e is definitely the way to go.

Stock 6.0 flexplate. You can get one from JEGS for $60.

58x wasn't an option until 05. Stick to the older stuff and you're fine
