Default Predator tuning....let's see if I am understanding this right...

+% on PE richens fuel across the entire rpm range...

+% on Spark advances timing at WOT only...

I want my LTs to be slightly - when cruising, 0 at WOT...

Right now I have PE at +4.75%, Spark at +5%, and my LTs are -1 to 1, 0 at WOT. My O2 mV are 885 at WOT, no knock seen from 1st to the top of 3rd gear.

When I had PE at 0, my O2 mV was 905....

So, is any of this close to a decent tune? What looks good, what looks bad? Advice?

No PE is only at WOT. The car will run "leanish" otherwise. Crusing around you want to be at 0 or low neg. numbers.

I do not remeber the spark. But I "thought" it was immediate and always unless you get KR. You want that in the 27 range at WOT

Oh and a wideband would be helpful as my O2's would show 880's but I was way rich.

Right now I believe my WOT timing is 28-28.5...with no knock.

Whats wierd though is my O2 readings went from 905 to 885 when I added +4.75% on PE...should I go back to 0% and just try to keep my timing where it is?

Default tuning

Ive also been messing around with the tuning for a while. Right now at WOT my 02's read 950-980. Does this mean rich or lean??? To fix this I would add PE or take it away? And also, would me having ported/polished heads with the stock cam affect anything? thanks!

Hmmm with stock exhaust it should be easy to set your PE and get good numbers from your O2's.
Did you buy your Predator from James?

spark is measured in degrees, not percent...

The next time I have the car out and warmed up, I'll see where those values are for you.

950-980 is very rich. Most people shoot for .85 to .88 (850 to 880). I'm not familiar with tuning LS1's but I did do a bit with my 90 Talon Turbo, same concept. It's just 02 sensor voltage. The higher the number, the richer the AF ratio is. Anything below 800 is getting pretty lean. Like they say..... Your engine will never feel as good as it does the minute before it blows (lean condition).

I have a snapshot of my old Predator tune as a
.bin file.

Spark push from the Predator tune is not WOT only,
it adds everywhere from the 0.32 g/cyl line on up.
By way of reference, this is about 20% throttle on
my car.

880mV on stock exhaust manifolds is right about
where you want to be. Get it there, jack the spark
forward until you see KR and then back off a percent
(or two). The Predator "%" scheme is kind of bogus,
don't believe it literally. Like, since when does -25%
on 0.300 sec shift adaptation time equal 0.000?

Must be the New Math.
