P0601 - Reduced Engine Level and car Shuts Off
Hello,
I have a 2010 2SS L99 Camaro with 93k miles on it and zero mods.
The car drives perfect but every once in a while (once or twice a day), it will suddenly shut off while driving (highway or at slower speeds) w/o any warning at all and will give me the "Reduced Engine Level" message with the P0601 Bad PCM code on the scanner.
Ive read that I may have to either:
1. check ground of battery
2. replace PCM
But are there any other possible causes/fix for this? The car drives fine, and transmission shifts perfect.
Thanks,

Sounds like a ground connection might be getting corroded or loose. Check EVERY ground you can think of, and look up the ones you don't know about. These systems are SO electrically sensitive, ALL connections must be sound.
Getting this close to 100k miles it would be no surprise to have a bad connection or more developing

I had this pop up on my 2012 camaro was a poor ground at the main ground cable that connects to the abs mounting bracket. The paint was still under the connection and it would cause me intermitant crap. Cleaned the paint and painted connection with battery post protector stuff looks like red high tack. No further issues but my car didn't have the original engine and had been apart a few times.
