Stock 12200411 PCM with EGR on 2002 Non-EGR 4.8. Any issues ?
For my engine swap, I have a 2001 Silverado PCM which had EGR. I am going to get it re-flashed to remove VATS, O2 and other items. The motor is going to be stock with no mod.
The only concern I have is the PCM came out of a 2001 EGR motor and my 2002 4.8 does not have any EGR.
There are several people on eBay that can flash to remove VATS and O2 and other stuff for less than $50. For now, I don't what to get it tuned.
If the EGR is deleted from the 2001 PCM, will it run my 2002 4.8 just fine?
See the attached picture. Is there anyway to tell the VIN number the sticker?
Thanks

Just do your homework and understand that no reputable tuner or shop would do that for $50. We do more re-tunes than we can count from Craigslist, fabcebook, and eBay “Tuners” that weren’t even worth $50. Had 3 customers in last 6 months their bargin tunes took out their motors. I’m not saying everyone doing cheap tunes is bad, just saying do your homework.

-Change tune to stock 4.8 Tahoe
-Removal of the vehicle antitheft security (VATS) option.
-Turn on Fan 1 and Fan 2
-Rear gear ratio change
-Tire size
-Remove speed limiter
-Remove emission controls
-Change VIN
-Change tach signal to match my tachometer
My motor is bone stock. What is a typical cost to do what is listed above?

In addition to the items you listed there are alot of DTC's that need to be deleted and a few other tables that need to be changed for it to be 100% correct. Thats not including all the tables if you actually wanted a custom tune.
For the just the items you listed anyone who "tunes" should be able to get that correct since there really isnt any tuning knowledge needed for those changes.
We have a fixed price for programming pcm's for swaps, we dont have a separate price if you dont want an actual tune. Your paying for time, experience and our tech support where you can call someone M-F. Most shops and us included charge in the area of $200-$350 for mail order tunes, some higher and some lower.
