Need Help 6.0 L96 Engine out of a 2014 GMC Sierra 2500.

Engine, Harness, Computer, Starter, Alternator, A/C Compressor, and Power Steering Pump. Can this work with my 4L80e trans? been told many things one is it will not work. But I thought it would.. is the computer and e38? Thanks, for any help. Rick

I can tell you that the 2008 LY6 engine out of a Chevy Express van I have came with a 4l80e and E38 ecm, It only has VVT and I looked at the specs on the L96 and it also has VVT and I see nothing about Displacement on Demand so I don't see what it wouldn't work.

Maybe someone else will chime in, I don't know anything about the E78. But if you wanted to run the engine on the E38 computer and harness you can add flex fuel to it so that would be an option.
Are you keeping the VVT ? What's it going into? Do you already have a stand alone harness?

Well I don"t have a stand alone harness. But willing to get one if needed. I wanna do cam and springs. So vvt can be changed with cam. I have a 2003 Silverado with a Procharger I want to use it in..

I'm not real familiar with all the different combinations of ecu's but you might be able to use all the stock Silverado wiring with some modifications. The 03 wiring and ECU are setup for a 24x crankshaft reluctor wheel and the new engine has a 58x reluctor wheel. You can get a converter like this https://www.lingenfelter.com/product...l#.WoHK7UxFzb0

You'll also need a VVT delete kit like this http://www.tickperformance.com/tick-...or-ls-engines/

And then have to change the wiring a little since the cam sensor is now located on the front of the engine.

I run Holley EFI systems on my stuff so I'm not up on using HP tuners and what stock computers can be made to run Flex Fuel so you'll need to find that out before buying parts. If you know what the 03 used for a ECU then do some searches here and see if it will convert to run a flex fuel setup and run the 4l80e (it should)

Read this above

and make sure you turn off starter Diagnostic
Under system general tab vehicle in hp tuners otherwise it will not start unless you get that circuit correctly wired and checking.
This will get you fired up and running. I used stock harness, pedal, fuse box all the way thru to get things going. had to workout wiring on pig tail to pedal and a few other items but otherwise everything else stock. never even pulled it off engine.
