Default 98 PCM to 99+ lose tcs/asr? what about airbags?

Is it 100% certain that with going from a late '98 to a 99+ 0411 I will lose ASR/TCS? what about ABS? Was trying to keep it all and have big boost, nothing seems concrete in threads I have searched. Input or feedback from others is welcome.

Jon

yes i'm pretty sure you will loose it. I just did the same swap. my car didn't have asr/tcs option. the 98 ecm uses the uart communication system to talk with the abs and air bag module. the 0411 uses class 2 serial data line to talk with every module in the car. the 98 ecm only uses the class 2 to talk with the scan tool

Unless I am misunderstanding you, you are saying I am also going to lose the airbags as well? May need to re-think this PCM swap if that's the case.

Use a P59 PCM.......I don't think you lose anything.

But.....there's a few contradictory threads also.

But the company making my new engine harness and setting up my P59 PCM to work with my 4L80E and setting up the complete wiring harness for the 4L80E that will just plug and play.......says everything will work, also everything in my 1998 gauge cluster. So we'll see.

PM me who is doing your work if you could. I have an 0411 and 3 bar map, losing ABS/TCS to me isn't that big of a deal. Losing the airbags is a deal breaker since my wife and kids ride in the car, which also makes a cage a no go (to run harnesses and not worry about airbagsairbags.

Thanks

Jon

They simply told me everything will work......I explained in detail how people report losing certain things. They said it will not happen.

---I thought 0411 can only do 2 bar???? Thats why I am using the P59, also because I want to use a Flex-Fuel sensor.

You do not lose airbags when doing a 411 swap.
