Default Maf problems

I have a 04 gto ls1 in my mustang with a tsp228r cam and longtubes. Had the car tuned and it hits 5200 rpm and sounds like it hits a rev limiter. All the rev limiters have been turned off. When looking at the graph, timing starts getting pulled around 4500 rpm and at 5200 it's down to 10 degrees. It cuts up for a few seconds and clears up. We unhooked the maf and it cleared everything up and felt like it had alot more power. So we replaced the maf with a spare one. And the problem came back. The tuner seems stumped.

I'm not sure. But he said the air flow reading dropped to 10 then zero. Not sure if its Hertz or what. I'll see if I can get a copy of the graph.
