Ls 3 - 480

I just installed a LS 3 - 480 HP engine in my chevelle; 2 questions....what should it idle at and I believe I feel a slight surge while driving down the highway.

What tranmission and rear gear?

Trans is 4L70E.....rear gears are 373's

Get a good dyno tune for it; drivability will be transformed!
