Default Throttle goes over 100%

So I had a but of bad luck with a dealer I guess. They did a recall on my 2005 ctsv, flashed my ecm which had a tune on it for my btr stage 3 cam. I drive the car home. The recall was for a key. Next day it wont start. Service alarm system comes on and I tow it back to them. They say my ecm is toast.

There's a lot more but long story short...I got a new ecm, wrote the previous tune on this ecm. It runs okay. But I now have a traction control light and I was having a fuel cut feeling issue when I went WOT. I logged the issue and noticed my throttle was going over 100% and went to like 117%. When the throttle passes 100% the fuel cut issue happens.

I dont have any dtc's. Just the traction light. I have tried to reset the idle multiple times but I've not seen this issue before. If anyone could help that would be great.

I can't help with with the tuning, sorry. However, having had a similar issue with a shop reflashing on me once and causing issues after, I found and bought an ODB port lock. Just a plastic cap with a key in it that locks people out of the ODB port. Cheap insurance.

It is the pedal position or the throttle position over 100?

Pedal position (APP) will sometimes go over 100% on my 04 with no ill effects. Throttle position shouldn't and will probably go into reduced power mode if it does. That happens with some throttle bodies such as an LS3 or some aftermarket.. Stock LS6 throttle body?

I also had an issue with the traction control or ABS light staying on after flashing. Only way that made it go away was do disconnect the battery for like 15mins.. It has never come back on since and that was years ago.

stock ls6 throttle body
The throttle position is going to 120%. If I just turn the scanner on, and push the pedal to the floor it will show 120%.
I will try the negative cable and see if that works.

Thanks for the help

If your ECU is a P59 it can almost certainly be brought back to life. P01s too, but I don't think they were using those in 2005.

that's correct. I had to swap in this ecu after the dealership messed my factory ecu up.
you say brought back to life. What do you think is wrong with it?

I don't know this for 100% certain but I suspect that your PCM disabled itself similar to the way mine disabled itself when I flashed it with a bad file.

It thought there was a hardware problem that would make the car unsafe to drive. Bad flash memory in my case, bad TAC communication in your case.

If you check the thread about open source flashing, there's some discussion about recovery in the last couple pages. We should probably create a separate thread to make it easier to find.

Check your axis table in the tune file. Make sure it is not over 100%.

So I pulled the negative battery cable for 15 min. Restarted and the traction control light went away. I wrote a new tune to the ecm. Everything seems to be working fine. I didn't have any more time to check on the throttle position, had to go to work. But when I get home tonight I will check it.

What were you using originally to determine the throttle position was off?
