NEW Build Tuning Help. Looking for some help. I just finished my TJ LS Swap and I need a tuner. I have not found a tuner within driving distance or hauling, without breaking the bank. My question is can I go with a Handheld? I am thinking I will get a big no on that. Or buy the tuning software and have someone write me a tune.....if possible? I am guessing HP? I am extremely strong with PC's. Be glad to pay whatever.
Gen 4 5.3 with Brian Toooley cam stage 4, headers 92mm TB., 4L60 small converter.
Location 45 Minutes south of Knoxville or 45 North of Chatt.

Around here the chassis dyno tuners get $300 per hour and will book 2 hours to start. First $300 is a deposit and if you don't show up you lose the $300.
'm working on my 80 Camaro LS3/4L60E swap and the local tuners are booked out to at least mid-July and early August.
I haven't looked up the stage four cam specs but it sounds pretty healthy.
Maybe a mail order tune to get it in the ball park and you can tune from there?
I have 98 Wrangler with a LS6/4L60E swap. It has been great.

You need to do a lot more research. Honestly, you should have done that bit before starting this project. That being said, I would only buy tuning software through approved vendors. You might get "lucky" and get an ebay "cracked" version, but good luck on support.

Most vehicles need 2 credits for hptuners. There are some good tuners that will do a remote tune for you to get you going. Then you can learn from there with hptuners. If i was to do it again i would go with holley terminator x instead of the stock pcm. Easier to learn and use.

EXSPECIALLY if you are gonna have to pay someone to tune it.
Its not even much more than running a swap harness and factory PCM by the time its all said and done, since you can easily tune the Holley yourself.
