Lean Condition during MAF Calibration I've been diving in to the world of tuning my Gen 3 LS1 (02 Camaro) with the help of Goat Rope Garage's youtube videos. I'm in the MAF calibration phase now. Everything was going well and I ran about 17 log/tune cycles before I started really getting the hang of it and had it nearly dialed in. I ran through 3 iterations of log/airflow vs frequency tweaking this morning until my laptop was low on battery so I had to head home. Fired up the Camaro after the laptop charged for about an hour and suddenly my AEM wideband is reporting everything lean. 10-15% consistently lean across all RPMs. I let it fully cool, then warmed it back up to try again and same lean condition issue. I checked for vacuum and exhaust leaks and couldn't find any. It would be a bit strange for a leak to develop out of the blue but I was running high rpms for extended periods (min or so per pass) so I thought maybe one of those could be at play. I don't think that is the case though.
I loaded up my original tune and the lean condition is gone. So that should rule out a bad wideband and a lot of other issues. Then I reloaded the original MAF only tune with no changes to the MAF calibration table and the lean condition was back. So it does seem something is adjusting the fuel trims when I run the MAF only tune.
Any ideas out there?
