High LTFT's - need help!!! James at rwtd sent me a custom tune. After monitoring some data I think I still need to work on the tune. So how can I fix these with my preditor. LTFT's at steady cruising 55 mph 4th gear +4 +7 55 mph 5th gear +6 +10 65 mph 4th gear +7 +9 65 mph 5th gear +7 +10 note bank 2 is always higher He says it should be a little negative O2 voltage WOT 3rd gear up to readline .880 - .890 It supposed to be like .900- .920 Overall spark WOT 3 rd gear 26 to 29 Knock retard Part throttle 0 WOT 0 I think this is OK. NO codes, exhaust backfires. I need some help Guys !!! |

You cant fix that with a hand held. You need a real program like hptuners.com. If mine was like that I would send that mess back. He might have ran it rich like that for Nitrous. Do you have a wide band? If you need one at the last minute look in my sig. |
I'm not familiar with the predator. To get the ltrims down, you'll have to tweak the maf table, the ifr table, or the ve table. Or some combination of the above. Your o2's voltages do look a little light. There you could change the PE table or the maf table. Or possibly the ifr table. Spark looks about right. Good deal on the zero kr. |
Try this first! I just had the same problem. I was seeing some pretty high LTFTs; Idle +16, light throttle +6-8, and higher throttle(non-wot) +4-6. This was with the stock screened maf and stock IFR/MAF tables. At the time I had a modified PCV and intake path (TNT ring, coupler, and air bridge) after the MAF. I put those back to stock one at a time, thinking I may have had an air leak, and retested... no change in the the LTFTs. So, next I picked up a can of electrical component cleaner from radio shack and some q-tips. Cleaned the MAF sensor wires/resistors and took it out for a spin. +4-6 at idle(probably the cam and mod. VE table), 0 to +3 light throttle, and -3 to 0 at heavier non-wot throttle... wot zero'd out. The LTFTs were also reset after each change. I would have saved a ton of time if I had cleaned the maf first. If you do, just be careful, as it does not take much force to damage the resistors. I just shot it pretty good with the cleaner and then using a soaked q-tip lightly rubbed the q-tip over the risistor and wires. Not sure if you IFR/MAF tables are unchanged or not, so this may or may not work. Depends what the root of the problem is. Good luck, Mike |
