how are the pcm and fuel sender related?

how are the pcm and fuel sender related? Ive got a 98 f-body pcm but will be running the single vette style fuel system with a 99 f-body pump/sender. Ive heard the 98 sender is different than the 99 sender...how do I get it to work with the 98 pcm?
