gameover,
Do you plan on changing your policy to allow someone to buy a license for one vehicle, or at least be able to pick the second vehicle at a later date? Being forced to pay for 2 vehicles, basically having to pick one of them at random, gives me indigestion.

our inital product release (over a year ago) was $499 for one vehicle type. We changed it to two for the same price. The administrative load of tracking, processing folks second vehicle type at a later date (maybe years away) is too high under the 1.x software structure. Our new USB cable combined with 2.0 gives us many more options in this regard.

- enables dual high/low octane spark tables (knock learn) when in SD
- if you have secondary VE table (older OS's) it is deleted and the primary VE is used
- new TPS/RPM based VE multiplier that can be used in a number of ways to assist tuning of engine/inlet combo's that are not SD friendly. See the example in the link above.

Would you be refering to large overlap situations? Will we be able to tune VE based on TPS/RPM, as opposed to the traditional MAP/RPM?

This is from the hpt site.

looks like you still have the normal ve table but there is a multiplier next to it.
Have only looked at the screen shots so far so am only guessing .
with any luck i will have it soon , i sent sales@hptuners an email about the 1bar sd and am just waiting for a reply

yes. It is not a traditional Alpha-N but can be made to operate in a very similar way. In the simplest case you can tune using normal SD methods and patch up any low throttle (usually low RPM) fueling issues with the TPS vs. RPM multiplier. You'll also notice the TPS axis is non-linear and gives you a lot of resolution at the lower TPS levels.

The basic rationale is this: You have a situation where the VE table is being hit in the same place for two different driving conditions. Generally this is seen as idle vs. part throttle, or in very wild combo's (such as 8 TB's) you have a around 10 kPa (2-3 rows) of tunable VE table at lower RPMs. With SD only you have to tune for either one or the other or have a compromise in the middle.

This new table gives you extra flexibility to make say 85kPa/1200rpm/5%TPS mean something different for fueling than 85kPa/1200rpm/20%TPS.

The reason we left SD in there and didn't go a normal Alpha-N is that in most cases there is only a few areas where you need to work on the issues and SD tune is fine for the rest of the VE, especially when you get into higher RPMs where vacuum and resolution starts to come back again at light throttle.

Chris...

I'm guessing I probably won't be using this much (if at all) since my car has the stock cam and will be that way for a while...

the best thing is being able to delete the secondary ve, enable both fuel tables again. that is awsome bring it out for the 98s sooner please. we are the ones that really need the secondary ve gone. that table is so small.

that feels like a slap in the face to me...
I like the fact that there is an update... but I bought mine knowing that 2.0 was supposed to be released before now....and its way overdue......and I was hoping for a 2.0 update before my free update time runs out so I can have USB support...

how about a little update on arrival of 2.0 and what about us guys purchasing so we would be able to get the 2.0 update for free....I wold have waited till 2006 if I knew it was going to happen this way...

sorry I had to rag a llittle there....

thanks for the update you did do...

you installed over an existing copy of HP Tuners right? (you didn't uninstall the old and then install this update correct?)

Shouldn't need to redownload the PCM, I was able to open mine up fine
