Default HP Tuners 2.0 wont work with existing EIO cable?

is this true?

are individuals and tuner shops going to be forced to buy new hardware to use 2.0?

ok so existing users both individual and shops should be able to continue to use their existing cable and connect to every year/model car as before with the 2.0 software?

once we recieve the updated software we are good to go?

Correct! V2.0 is a software upgrade to existing user ... this means all you need to do is download and install the new version/update and continue tuning. Much like updating from V1.6 to V1.7. For those looking to tune 2005+ products with CAN software (example: LS2, LS7), it will be new hardware with intergrated USB support. Existing customers can opt to upgrade to the USB cable for a nominal fee. If you wish to keep your existing hardware (due to sentimental reasons, cost reasons) you can! You will be able to use V2.0 software with V1.7 or older hardware.

they are still working on fixing some very minor bugs as well as implimenting some more new stuff in it from what I have heard. Not sure how much longer for the general public though.

More new stuff? Cheezus, ever hear of feature creep (or learn how to prevent it) to meet deadlines?

we are trying to make them aware of what bugs are in there right now...2.0 is a work in progress right now...as they do the bug fixes for us they are adding stuff. One has nothing to do with the other imo...just like when they were putting out versions 1.6.1, 1.6.2 and what have you...they are implimenting the stuff to get it right when it DOES come out as well as adding new stuff in the mean time. Im sure it will come out when they feel comfortable that they wont be completely bombarded with bugs.

from what im seeing, there isnt alot of feature creep... the new features are done.. but this is a total re-write, so there are just little details to finish... its almost there...

(hmmm, that sounds familiar.... lol)

FYI , even after 2.0 is released, based on their new structure, you'll get 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 and I believe 3.0 4.0 etc... but regardless you can get alot more than 1 free upgrade... all software updates (except the add-on items they have listed) no longer require the software license "maintenance" fee (or whatever it was called)
