LTFT's and Atap Log Suggestions.

Just did some taps over the last couple of days and have been using a new definition of which fuel cells to pull data from and want to let you all know that I have had really good results when using only cells 5 to 15 plus cell 22 for the "part throttle" average. I was sceptical at first using cells 15 and 22 because obviously WOT is not "part throttle", but after looking at the LTFT's at WOT I was showing a constant positive value on both sides (ie. 3.9 and 6.2). Ideally you want these to be at zero when the pcm goes into open loop at WOT. My understanding of this concept is the pcm, at that instance it goes WOT, does not have 100% enrichment available for max output. Anyway, after tuning with this change my "part throttle" avg. is right on at about -2 and the WOT LTFT's are showing zero with a few exceptions. I believe after some more time they should be zero all the time. I also noticed the LTFT's in cell 15 are still showing from a positive 2.9 to 5.3, which I believe is a good indicator if you are really there yet.... I am going to give this setting a little more time to see where they go. If they stay positive, I am going to tweak it a little richer.

BTW, I can feel a SOTP difference with this new method. My O2's at WOT are real consistant also at .890-.900 w/ no KR.
I thought my numbers were a bit low at the last dyno session.....I tink I found dem ponies
Hope this info helps others.

Almost forgot...I made these changes based on what "deathrider" suggested. Thankyou deathrider!

let me understand this..

i was going by the rule that you use cells 6-14 for the LTrims and only cells 15,22 for WOT O2 values.

did you try this originally?

are you saying its better to include cells 5 and 22 also within the LTrim averages? What were your numbers without using these cells?

Bluebyu: I've decided not to include FTC 22... After more research into the subject seems that FTC 22 is for WOT not part throttle driving... I would still include FTC 15 but check out the original post for instructions to remove FTC 22 from the equations.
emailing you...

As I don't normally run my car hard before it warms up, I never see anything in this cell either.

Cell 22 is for WOT when the car is warm. Though if I also include TP>99%, I lose about 15% of my data points so apparently cell 22 does get some partial throttle data points though they are usually logged around the time the car undergoes WOT. But there aren't very many and thus not worth bothering with when looking at partial throttle conditions.

Miner_49: Thanks for clearing FTC 15 for me... I haven't seen it show up in my logs... and Who would hit WOT with a cold motor?
