Ordering ATAP, need opinions

Ordering ATAP, need opinions I just ordered LS1Edit and am now ordering ATAP. But there are options here that I'm not sure about. I plan on doing serious mods to this car so I need a diagnostics program that will be able to grow with me.
What are the advantages of the enhanced over the generic? I read somewhere that KR was not recorded in the generic and this would obviously be something I'd need. Assuming that's true, and hopfully someone here can confirm, then I'll go with at least the enhanced.
How about EFIlive? There is the standard EFIlive and then there's PRO which supports bi-directional communication. How does EFIlive work and how is it useful to me? What are the advantages to these two versions? Do I need either?

atap123(the regular one) is generic and will only view certain engine diagnostic parameters(kinda like what they use at autozone).
atap enhanced is tailored to the fbody in a sense that it will allow you to see more parameters assoc with our cars.
efi live is the same, a diagnostic device but the bi directional control feature will allow you to make temporary changes...however, they will not be saved into the pcm and will return to the previous settings as soon as it is unplugged.

Re: Ordering ATAP, need opinions Generic codes are the "P" codes. "P" Powertrain codes are the emissions codes. The enhanced codes are the B,C and U codes which are manufacturer specific. Body, Chassis, Communications.

Re: Ordering ATAP, need opinions I bought version 1.x back in 2000. It has worked great, no complaints. I did however download the new version 2.x a few weeks ago and it connects and shows a few parameters, but it can't find my vin and won't accept it when I type it in. I still haven't got it figured out.
