MAFless/Speed density tuning questions within
Chris suppose u could tap into the factory PCM and have it correct (fuel/tming)on the fly like I'm talking about? Then piggy back a harness to run a wideband on the fly to...

You could hook up an emulator (though I am not currently aware of a reasonably priced setup that will work on the ls1) and do that - and you would have to hack the pcm code itself to get it to make proper corrections for a wideband.
But none of that is really plausable - before you do something like that you might as well go with a fast or gen7 - and if those features are something you really need, then yep, time to switch to aftermarket DFI.

I dissagree with u on one point,Chris..
My DFI controlled LT1 had soo much better ability to cold start, warm start and idle better than any maf setup I've had since.Throttle response was better too.

That's anecdotal evidence though - it proves that one SD setup can have certain factors perform better than other MAF setups - I don't disagree with this. But a properly tuned MAF setup on a comparable system should/will perform better than the SD system - simply because it more accurately meters the incoming air. What it does with this value depends on the programming itself - but it has provided a more acurate/precise value than SD is capable of.

Do u think its poss to tap into the factory harness/pcm to do what I've thought up?

Possible, yes - but cost effective or likely to happen, no. Unless an individual who had access to all the equipment required as well as the knowledge decided that he had to do it like that, "just because" I don't think it will happen.
