TH400 is in, tuning questions
The car would not idle with the settings I had at the time. It was set for around 800-900 at normal temp. It would keep going down to around 400-500RPM, and jump to 1300-1400. It did the same thing while in gear. I had to raise the idle to 950RPM in park, and 1000 in gear to stop it from doing this. The new converter is a little looser than the original one, but not by much. I'm a little worried about having it that high, because it is harder on the drivetrain while putting it in gear. Do you guys think it'll be okay keeping it at this RPM??
I have looked at the LS1edit FAQ, and found that I should verify my IAC values with the idle, so I'll be doing that shortly. It also said that my timing could be set too high, and that could've caused the erratic idle at lower RPM.
Would my current tune be okay for the new tranny setup? I know noone has the perfect answer, but I wanted to see what others did when they swapped.
