knock sensor circuit what do you guys think about this circuit, do you think this will work, or will it hurt? the formula is; resister #1 - kn.sensor / 4, resister #2 - kn.sensor x 2 Knock Sensor Desensitizing The 4th gen f-body is prone to timing retardation due to false knock. If you suspect false knock is robbing you of power, you can desensitize your knock sensor with this circuit http://www.kyfbodies.org/ to see the pic. of the circuit, click the website, and go to techfiles. sorry my computer freaked out and i could not paste the pic. here. [ April 13, 2003, 12:01 PM: Message edited by: cueball ] |
Re: knock sensor circuit any body! what do you think? |
Re: knock sensor circuit I believe Nineball, who like me suffered from tons of KR, addressed this a long time ago. He came up with a knock sensor desensitizer circuit a long time ago. |
Re: knock sensor circuit sorry about that i did not know this has already been addressed, i just singed on to this website in march. i would like the circuit info. if it is diffirent than the one i posted. how did the circuit work? thanx! |
Re: knock sensor circuit i have been told that this wont work and will set codes but it is what i did several months ago and couldn't be happier. i put 1 10kohm risistor inline with each knock sensor wire. i have seen no codes and my false knock problems are gone. here is a brief history of what i have seen. stock knock sensor circuit with 6psi whipple>>knock every time i floored it especialy out of the hole and at the shifts. 10k resistor in each circuit with 6psi whipple>> 0 knock 10k resistor in each circuit with 8psi whipple>>full 8deg of knock retard continuas 10k resestor in each circuit with 8psi whipple and 100octane>>0 knock 10k resistor in each circuit with 11psi whipple and 100octane>>4-6deg of KR at the launch tapering thru the run. all that leads me to believe that my knock sensors are working properly with the 10k resistors. [ April 15, 2003, 10:44 PM: Message edited by: parish8 ] |
Re: knock sensor circuit where did you get that circuit? i mite want to try it too. it looks like a good one a lot better than the one i found. |
