Guru's and LS1 experienced ANY IDEAS ????
 

Okay,

I have a 98 Z28, A4, 3.42 swap recently which turned on the ABS INOP and BRAKE lights, I figured this would happen as my car was ABS and the 02 rear I put in complete, was not. I've driven the car approximately 800 miles or so this way and today, I turn my AC on, back out of my parking space at work and go 500 feet and the SES
light comes on and stays on the 30 miles or so going home??? Car runs just fine, no skips misses or otherwise and has never thrown a light before
now. My mods are minimal: MTI lid, K&N filter, Magnaflow muffler, subs and the aforementioned 3.42 rear swap as well as the required HPP3. I have the HPP3 set for performance tuning, non RFG
fuel, 25% firmer shifts and the 3.42's.....I may be able to get acess to AutoTap tomorrow at work
but it's bugging the sh*t outta me right now...

I'm thinking that with 80K mile plugs and wires
that could be it????

"Just a light" could be anything from a loose gas cap to a blown air pump fuse. Your guess is probably as good as anyone elses' guess here, until you get a scanner on it.

Thanks, I know it's not easy doing a diagnosis over a computer, I just wondered if anyone else had maybe had a similar set of circumstances. Another person suggested it may be the HPP3, I've heard bad things about the performance tuning on A4's but mine seemed fine? The car doesn't misfire at all, could it be so subtle a misfire as to not feel it? I guess I'll know more when I can scan it. Did somebody else on here say Autozone will scan your car free????

Yes, AZ will scan the car for free.

My car was popping an SES last couple days, P1415 - Secondary Air Circuit problem. Car runs fine, just the light is lit. Thought I'd taken care of that bugger in LS1Edit, but I guess not. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> Its problem, of course, is that my air pump is in a box on a shelf in the garage. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_images/icons/tongue.gif" />

So yup, go check it.

I've got Auto Tap loading on a friend's laptop right now....question? Can Auto Tap turn off my
ABS INOP and BRAKE light from my rear install?
Or am I stuck with pulling a bulb??? I should have the codes from mine here in a few minutes.

Guys, the code came back as P1416 "port air circuit malfunction" Anybody know what I should start looking for???

All I know is that has to do with your AIR system.
