DTC'S AND MAFT? Shortly after installing a MAFT on my car I've been getting a PO171 and PO174 system too lean DTC. The MAFT is set at 0-base and 2% lean at WOT. When I try to start from scratch (0-base and 0-WOT) the Ltrims never change. I've tried 5%,10% etc. and the Ltrims stay at a constant 25%. Before the translator, the car never had this code. If I try to lean it out at WOT, my O2's read 930-955, the same as before the translator. 2%,4% etc. did not show any change with the O2 readings. Is it possible that I have a bad MAFT? Or is it something that I'm doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
Re: DTC'S AND MAFT? Assuming it's hooked up correctly I would say you got a bad one. If you disconnect it and hook it back up like stock it doesn't do this, correct? |
Re: DTC'S AND MAFT? No actually, when I disconnected it, I still got the DTC. My IAC pintle position number was at 60 when the car was fully warmed up. It was in the 20's the last time I checked it about a month ago. Is it possible that there is a problem with that? Also when making adjustments to the MAFT, do those changes instantly show up on autotap, or does it take some time? |
Re: DTC'S AND MAFT? You have a stock ported MAF on the car or after market MAF ends? Kimh@vankampen.com had that happen like two years ago. I think you need to add fuel. 25% means that the pcm is maxed out as far as compensating. |
Re: DTC'S AND MAFT? Hey John, its Chris (gold car). When I first put the translator on, everything was fine. I drove all the way to 41, and made a few passes without any DTC. Suddenly on the return road, there it was. I think there was something that trggered this whole episode. |
Re: DTC'S AND MAFT? I forgot to mention I have Whisper ported MAF ends. |
