it does NOT swap in for the factory computer.

you only need the stock computer if you want abs or your gauges to work etc.

so the bs3 is basically a piggyback onto the stock pcm? do i need the engine wiring harness from the ls1 motor? i do have the pcm just no harness. is the BS3 kit everything i need to get my motor up and running? or do i need the factory engine harness and the bs3 uses that?

no, bs3 can run the engine and an -e trans by itself. it has its own harness complete.

if you want the gauges to work you have to leave the stock computer and part of the stock harness in the car.

I've got an A4 and everything but the tach and speedo work. I'm not sure if the cam connection is right but I haven't been able to check it out since the car is in Hawaii and I'm in Oklahoma. If anyone else knows of a way to get the speedo to work in the A4 please let me know. Might save me some hassels or others if I sell my car.

I have the crank pos hooked up and no joy. The speedo connection gets replaced with the bs3 connection in the trans.

You have to splice the factory crank wires into the BS3 crank plug if that help it make sense to you. i may be misunderstanding you if so I appologize.

sounds like you need to share the speedo signal back to the stock computer too.

i didnt know if the ring gear in the back did vehicle speed or if it was soemthing in the trans
