Buddy's throwing codes My buddy just got a 01 Z28 but it's been throwing codes. Lean on both banks and high voltage on the TPS. Not sure what the last one implies but what's his best course of action? I told him to be nice to it until he can get it to a tuner and have em bump up his fuel tables. How much would a tuner charge or is there someone in the area that can do a basic street tune for him just to get him back on track. He doesn't want more power. He likes the car as-is. Thanks guys. |
It's going to take some trouble shooting. It could be legitimately lean or the O2's could be flatlining. What's done to the car? Has he moved the throttle body set screw or bought an aftermarket ported tb with the bump stop mod? |

These mods were done before he bought the car. |
he first needs to reset his tps & go from there...make sure he's within same limits for what his tps voltage reads though...less then .6 v at idle is fine. |
Get a voltmeter and get the TPS sensor between .4 and .6 volts. |
Lean on both banks could be: O2's (need a scanner to see how active they are), fuel supply (can check fuel pressure, fuel filter, try injector cleaner, etc.), air leak somewhere after the MAF. He should also check for any exhaust leaks as well. Reset TPS |
