DTC's After CAm install I have a 2000 6 speed Z28 and just did a cam install, i know some of what the codes are, but theres a few that has got me. Heres what i got Pacesetter headers Non-emission that should be the problem for a few of the codes. No rear o2, im planning on a custom dyno tune so i will have them fixed then. Also all the EGR and AIR has been removed. But i will list all the codes and maybe you guys can help me : P:0121 - Throttle Pos. Sensor/Switch A Circ Range/Perf -- Whats that mean? I dont know if any other listed problem might set this code P:0135 - Oxy Sensor Heater Circ bank1, Sensor-- im running stock o2 sensors in front w/ EXT. im thinking of ditching them for some Bosch 13111 and fix this problem P:0140 - Oxy Circ No Activity Dect. Back1 Sensor 2-- Thats the rear o2's, going to get them tuned out P:0160 - Oxy Circ No Activity Dect. Back2 Sensor 2-- Same as P:0140 P: 0300 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Dectected-- I was told the cam was causing this??? P: 0327 - Knock Sensor 1 Circuit Low input Bank1, 1 sensor-- Whats this mean??? Cam related??? Can a tune fix it??? P: 0405 - EGR Recirculation Sensor A circuit low-- The Egr has been removed form car thats the issue here. P: 0412 - SEC AIR Injection System Switching Valve AICR ERROR- All the AIR has Been Removed Also, I think thats whats causing this P: 1404 - EGR Closed POS PERF-- Again EGR has been removed PLEASE CHIME IN |
P:0121 - Throttle Pos. Sensor/Switch A Circ Range/Perf -- Whats that mean? P: 0300 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Dectected-- Is the cam causing this??? P: 0327 - Knock Sensor 1 Circuit Low input Bank1, 1 sensor-- Whats this mean??? Thats the ones im worried about, the others i kinda think i know what they are |
First, you can find much more detail for all those codes here. P0300 - Caused by cam? Answer is "Yes very likely. Can be tuned out" Anything that references 'Sensor 2' is referencing a rear O2 sensor. You might want to read the diagnostic info for the P0135. You might have a bad/old O2 sensor. Also read the info on the knock sensor. Often people fubar the wires when installing an intake manifold. There are some simple things you can check on the TP sensor as well. Hopefully you have a scanner of DVOM, and can simply check the voltage of the TP sensor. |
No i dont have a scanner, i just used a buddy of mines programmer to scan the codes. Im trying to learn this stuff, but when i get the car DYNO tuned do you think it will get ride of the problems or no?? |
Im running stock o2 sensors and some ext. do you think i need to just ditch them and get some Bosch 13111, i think that will get rid of the P-0135 code. As for the Knock module code, can any of the other problems set this code off??? |
Edited maybe this will help |
Check the connectors for the two knock sensors, the stuck-low is likely either a wiring "oops" or damage to the sensor but I'd bet on a loose connector myself. Cam makes everything lumpier and lumpy enough gets called a misfire. I'd start with doubling all the cylinder-mode misfire values (since you can't scan to see what region is popping the misfire current cylinder threshold) if you want to keep some functional, gross misfire detection, or just dummy them all out with 32767 values if you want to eliminate the complaining for sure, at the cost of not knowing when a plug wire comes off. Heater codes may not go away even with good new hot sensors. But the car can still run fine (mine does, though cam is only now going in; may get worse than what headers alone did). |
Is the Knock Sensor under the intake??? Also i dont have anyway of changing any values, i was just going to get a dyno tune, im just wondering what i need to do before i get it tuned. thanks for the help guys |
Anyone Else ? |
I am getting 0121 too, but not every time I drive, annoying as hell |
Yeah, i understand i got 9 DTC's, i talked to the tuner and he said just worry about the P:0327, P:0135. And he could tune the rest. just got to fiqure out the knock module problem. |
