Shift points?

I had my car tuned by an individual with EFI Live. Everything has been great until just yesterday I noticed what my shift points are.

1st to 2nd is an amazingly low 5k rpm??? Is this normal?

All other shift points are about 5800/5900.

Why would he set my 1st to 2nd gear shift point so incredibly low? The reason I ask is because I am spraying and now I have to turn my window switch all the way down to 4900 rpm so I don't spray thru shifts if I wanna spray in 1st gear.

It'd be interesting to know what the actual shift RPM is. Generally speaking, those shift points represent when the shift begins, and if you had steep gears, you may need to dial back the shift RPM to avoid overreving the engine in 1st gear because it revs so quickly.

It might also be that the line pressure commanded is too high and the tranny forced an early shift.

If your looking at the stock tach, it's slow. It doesn't keep up with the engine very well in first gear. Just ask your tuner what the point is set at.
