HPT won't log maf

I'm having a little issue logging mass air flow. Its stuck at 2.64 g/s. Switched to another maf, same thing. Raw Hz stick at zero. WTF?

are you logging all the proper parameters to log the MAF readings?? you can't just have 1 parameter..i believe you have to have 2 or 3 open to read the MAF sensor

foff667 Sep 30, 2007 07:46 PM

sounds like you might have a wiring problem.

QUASAR Sep 30, 2007 07:48 PM

hmm.. maybe IAT related, i will have a look. You need RPM and what else?

foff667 Sep 30, 2007 08:31 PM

MAF(SAE) is all you'd need to log in your table display to be logging maf.

You don't need anything special to log MAF Hz or g/sec, these
are straight PIDs (on a standard OS anyway, dunno about the
speed-density-only ones).

Check the power to the MAF, ENG SEN fuse and the at-the-
connector (should be a +12V and a +5Vish).

I will check that today, thanks.

There is nothing in the calibration file that I turned off by addicent is there? I look at anything airflow related that seemed relavant and I havent touched anything in there in ahwile, it all seems fine. I did add a pin to the pcm last year to log thru the EGR, but the scanner has worked fine since the re pinning untill now. I am getting a code for insufficient maf frequency hmm. I'll make sure the maf is getting power.

definitely check the eng fuse. someone else on MM had this same problem and it was the fuse.

I'll look at that first since thats easy. I would think other things run thru that fuse but i'm not having an issue with anything else (that I know of). Anyhoo i'll have a look.

I have run into this tuning a car as well... same thing

QUASAR Oct 2, 2007 07:11 AM

The ENG SEN fuse was blown. I haven't hooked up the scanner yet but that had to be it. Thanks guys, I probably would have tore the wiring harness out or something before looking there. :)
