Going to potentially get my first WS-6 tomorrow!
Wasn't sure where to post it, being I am not a new to the LS-X group (my s-10 in the signature, my dad has an 00 Firehawk #002)
Specs are: Bone stock 2002 WS-6 Sunset Orange Metallic 6-speed with 85,000 on the odo.
I have a lot of mods planned for this car, its going to be a daily driver for me, but I will focus mostly on the appearance. I want to keep it simple for the power, bolt ons, exhaust, maybe a mild cam.
I am looking at wheels, new audio equipment, lowering, tubular a arms, sub frames, the basic things, and possibly having the firebird phoenix painted in black across the hood.

I am totally stoked, I am looking for exhausts right now, want something thats pretty loud but not overkill, and has a really really deep drone to it, I know that some of the exhausts can get a little pitchy like a borla, sounds too high pitch for me. Any suggestions?

i've got a y-pipe and LM1. It's pretty damn loud, but i like the way it sounds. The only draw back is the drone at cruising speeds;fine by yourself, but annoying when someone else is in the car and you want to talk...lol. My brother has a 40 series flowmaster on it and i think it sounds pretty good. If memory serves me right, it isn't real loud from inside the car either. There's a sight called ls1sounds.com where you can listen to sound bits of different exhausts and set-ups. Sorry for the long post, but i hope it helps

Don't let that SOM slip away...bought my first WS6 in october and it's a SOM with 69,XXX on it and I put the loudmouth 2 on it and it sounds awesome even at 70 mph on the interstate, but mine is an A4...being yours is gonna be a 6 speed, the drone in your car shouldn't be as bad..

I've had Hooker, Magnaflow and the adj. Borla exhaust systems. IMO the Hooker was the loudest. The Magnaflows are the most affordable stainless steel catbacks and I really liked the how clean it sounded, especially at high rpms. Now I have the Borla's with the DMH cutout that is meant for the Borla exhaust and it sounds GOOD! Personally, I think the Borla exhaust sounds the best out of all of the ones I've had or heard in person. You can listen to clips of different header, exhaust, and cam sounds at ls1sounds.com.
