New T/A

New T/A
So, I ended up buying the T/A I was talking about in the haggle thread. Got him down to 7800, which for a 98 ws6 m6 with 91k on the clock and brand new tires, was more than reasonable. It came with Flowmaster exhaust, which sound decent, but I want something a little louder. I used to own an 04 Mustang, and the 'thing' to do in regard to 'Stang exhaust was either true duals or duals with an X or H pipe. However, I've noticed that with these F-bodies people tend to use Y pipes. Why is that? Secondly, since the car has aftermarket exhaust on it already, if I were to buy say some Loudmouths, could I just weld them in place of the blowmasters and not worry about the rest of the system? Thanks alot guys, and it's nice to be part of the ls1 family

I had slp on mine then i went to flowmasters. Because the only way you can put a x or h pipe is the exhaust is gona be dragin on the floor.under the car where the exhaust goes, it is shaped like a y, thats y, so get a 3" y pipe, delete cats , and lt's. maybe some 3" borla tips. It will sound alot better than slp. Hope you like it

If i could re do it all over i'd get a pair of headers and run it to a magnaflow or corsa cat-back. Have to keep mine emissions legal. The flowmaster is crap though get rid of it. Like already said the y pipe is the easiest set-up for these cars.
