Default Banging/ thumping coming thru floor?

Just took the 2000 Trans Am out for it's second ride tonight and did a burnout (auto Trans) and major thumping noise from drivers side under acceleration, no noise when driving normal, just under load, can't get in my garage as working on a 63 T.Bird resto, but looked underneath and all looks good, was wondering if it is the barrunning from trans to the diff, bushings or related. Anyone have this problem, I will look at it soon and figure it out for sure, but wanted a heads up if possable. Thanks. It is a WS6 if that matters.

Thanks, trans mount makes a lot of sense, will find out when I can use my own garage again.

Is it all stock? If not, some header setups can cause exactly what you're describing...

When my trans mount went it made loud noise when the trans made the 1-2 shift under any kind of acceleration.

like my bbk's I have same problem, gonna put in poly motor / trans mounts and see if it helps (it still has the stock ones from the factory so I'm sure they are prolly getting worn out anyway)

My Y-Pipe spanks me whenever I hit the pedal hard. There are fixes described in another post if that is the issue. Poly mounts may help, but there is a hanger that is supposed to be more definite fix.

The hangar "fix" is a bandaid. Replace your motor/trans mounts and you will be fine.

I guess I just have to finish the other project in garage, kick it out and start looking hard. I am going to drive the Hell out of it so may change more than it needs anyway.

Not at all. Install University has a write-up on changing it out. It takes about 30 minutes including the time to Jack the car up and eat a sandwich.

My T/A does the same thing? Could it possibly be the torque arm?
