Default shaker hood

Can I attach the shaker to the hood permanently? I want it to look stock, but there will be an LS3 under the hood...

Can you rephrase the question?

Yea- you can attach it to the bracing in the hood.

Why not attach the scoop to the LS3 engine cover? That's what I did to our 04 GTO with a shaker hood.

If you attach to the hood it won't shake. Honestly, if you this is a 4th gen question, it is not going to shake much even with an airbox install as the hood curvature traps the shaker to airbox dampening the majority of the shaking.

Plus- LS motors don't really shake that much anyway.

Give that thanks to better engine mounts than they had in the 60s' and 70's.

They shake pretty well, especially with a nice cam, but I love it when the engine pulls to the side when the torque gets rolling. But if you use the rubber gasket around the shaker, it will be hard to really appreciate the rockin and rollin.

Raleigh - I gotta say man, I love your car. It has to be the best 4th gen recreation of an older style f-body.

im talking a 78 trans am. but if I can attach it to the LS3 then I guess it doesn't matter? I want it to look stock but if the shaker scoop actually does something aside from let air in then I guess I'll keep it "fully" functional
