1st-gen selling market dead?
I have my 69 bird up for sale/trade. It is not a rare car but has thousands of dollars in quality performance and restoration. A 12 second car, red with a very nice body. It's not worth anything? That's what interested people are telling me. It's just a fun car so they say. I was offered an 87 Formula that the price was $4000 and he wouldn't offer any cash - just by pictures
An 87 Formula even with a 69 Firebird??
Damn - I bought it thinking a 1st gen bird will always be popular and it's not like I want rare number matching money for it!!
What do you guys see street/strip cars in nice driver condition selling for in your area?

I see 1st Gens at local car shows/cruise ins with for sale signs in the 8.5-15k range. Never seen one as nice as mine for sale yet. I don't know if they sell or not, I've just seen the signs on the windows. I would probably never sell mine, but I've been offered 17.5k at a show once.
I'd say your car is worth MUCH more than what you've been offered.

I see the big dollar ads and cars too and wonder if they really bring that much
Beside a super rare well option iece of course.
I have to believe a nice street strip car is a personal thing - but still worth the cost of the body, options and new parts - minus a decent percentge for not being original.

Might be your location also. Your same car down here in Houston would probably sell quickly. You could always try out Ebay or listing it on www.MotorheadTrader.com , thats where I found my '69.

Hey Chief, if you want to send me some pics I'd be happy to put up on my first gen firebird website. I have not updated it in over a year but still get hundreds of visitors a day.
lemme know.

Sure - thanks for the offer !
I'll put my email below so you can send me yours and I'll reply with some pics.
In this forum I have a bunch before I finished the interior as attachments under "69 Firebird sell or trade"
maybe you can click and save those?
Much appreciate any exposure
