Default Changed headlight gear, now motor not working...

Please mods leave this here for at least a little while so people will actually see it, I posted this in the headlight sticky a couple days ago but like I thought, no one checks the stickies...

Just installed a brass gear Ive had leftover for years (I bought both gears years ago when I did the passenger side headlight for the typical nylon gear wear issue) on the drivers side light and now the damn motor is strait up not working... Worked fine before, minus having a stripped gear, now nothing. There is no binding, or anything, everything looks good (wires didn't look corroded but after it didn't work first time around I brushed them off anyway, no effect). WTF... What could have changed literally over night for the motor to strait up not work?
