Noise on full throttle take off
Hello everyone. I have 2000 Trans Am Ws6 A4. 78,000 miles. Its mostly stock besides a few bolt ons. I do bolt in subframe connectors and strut brace also.
The problem i'm having is that whenever i take off from a dead stop and mash the throttle to the floor the car makes a metallic/screeching noise until i regain traction. Sounds like its coming from under the transmission/engine area. I have had the u joints replaced and rebuilt the rear end but the noise is still there. Sounded like it was coming from the rear at first but found out i had a bad pinion bearing when i got the rear differential apart. It also will make a squak noise if i'm in 1st gear at a dead stop when i hold the brake and apply the gas.
Any ideas?? This is starting to drive me nuts!

Silly question, but how are your rotors and calipers?
