Default 80 Trans am hard top to t top

Hey everyone, i have a 1980 trans am hardtop on the way. It's a well maintained all original numbers matching rust free car from arizona the only problem with it being the hardtop. It just drives me crazy because everyone on the planet has a fricken hardtop but not everyone has a t top. i found the t top roof structure on ebay what do you guys think?

Thanks!

or maybe just weld the structure into my roof and cut out the slots for the glass?

I did a lot of research on this when we built my wife's 79 TA (hardtop). Both of us really wanted t tops but after reading so many horror stories the short answer is go buy another car.

1965GP is right.
I also can't imagine destroying a 30+ year old 'original, well maintained, matching numbers car.' If it was in rough shape, then fine. If you don't care about potential value, go for it.
