Thanks guys! I'm still working on her, I'm pretty proud that it's gotten this far. Not to much bothers me about it anymore.

Made a $5 battery cover, pcm cover and a fuse block cover. I'm going to paint them and put a few decals on them.

Thank y'all. I bought a $5 sheet of metal at lowes, just used a hack saw to cut the pieces and clamped the pieces to the edge of the work bench and massaged the creases with a hammer. Made all 3 out if the same piece of sheet metal.

This build is completely bad***. I have a 2002 Firebird and was looking for a good build. This helps me a lot and makes me more confident for taking this project on.

Hatred for the 4l60e grows, loosing 3-4 again. Time for a t56 swap. Stay tuned for that one.

Put in the 6 speed pedals and cut the hole for the master cylinder and bolts. Installed a new pilot bearing, machined flywheel, spec clutch and matching pressure plate

Got the new GM master cylinder in place and secured to the pedals, and bolted the slave to the trans.

Measurements for shim:
engine to pressure plate fingers: 2.5 inches
bellhousing 5.5 inches = 2 inch difference
trans face to throwout bearing 2.125-2.250

should be good to go with no shims.

Awesome build man. Its rare to see people our age doing all their own work and taking pride in it. I did pretty much the exact same in my other two cars and just completely rebuilt my own for my build now. Best of luck man

Thank you.

Finished all of the interior wiring, just have to add the connectors at the transmission. Hatch release, neutral start safety, reverse lights and reverse lockout wired.

Got my ws6 store shift ball. Have an extra Lou's short stick since my stick isn't removable. Lower shift boot and tick speed bleeder also came in today. She is ready to go in!

So, I bought a 2000 formula last spring and it has the painted aluminum rims, I was going to say that I like that you kept the stock chrome rims on yours but I see that you bought new ones. What did you do with the stocks? (I'm sorry if I missed that somewhere in the middle, I went from the first page to the last page.) I love your custom covers that you made btw

Default 02 5.3 swap

I'm in the process of swapping a 09 5.3 into my 02 camaro and had a few questions about the build. were you able to pass inspection? Why didn't you use your original 4l60E? Did you have to run new fuel lines? would a computer from an older ls1 be best or should I look for a 09 truck computer?

I didn't build this car, but can provide some answers for you.

I don't know what would fail, are there specific concerns you have?

You can't use the 4L60E from a V6 with a V8, they don't work.

Use the computer from a 99 - 02 LS1 F-Body.
