Ahh yes, there it is. Text from the link I posted above:

"The changes made on the race ready option during the 96 model run were the most significant. For one thing, A/C now became standard on all cars, including the 1LE."

Searching for "1LE" in the Firebird parts catalog, I discover many of the 1LE components were included in other performance or handling packages such as WS6 and FE2 options.

I believe the 1LE transmission mount became the new number for the standard mount.

In third gen F-body cars, 1LE made more of a difference in how the car rode than in the later fourth gen cars.

Wow - Nice deal for you!

So, put the original parts back on, sell the blower (and get half of your investment back), then - after getting it detailed by one of our members here (as there are a couple very good detailers here) - sent it off to Barett-Jackson.

Again, nice find!

Wow, what an awesome car. Formula body with ram air and high rise spoiler! Best looking package right there IMO. Didn't even know there was a WS6 1LE....

Super jealous!

All 1LE Firebirds are 6-speed WS6 Formula hardtops.

OP, very nice and rare car.

I don't think so. A thirdgen 1LE had the same springs as a WS6. The main upgrade on thirdgens was the brakes and trans ratio.

On fourtgen 1LE, 93 had the same springs as a Z28, but 94-99 had stiffer springs. 1LE springs were used on 96-early 00 WS6 and SS, but those had inferior and softer sprung shocks.

I guess "rode" wasn't the best word to describe what I meant. The bigger brakes on third gen cars was a great upgrade. Fourth gen cars with 1LE didn't get any more than the stock V-8 brakes.

Didn't even notice that in that little pic. That T43 spoiler isn't original. The only '96 Formulas that got it were Firehawks. It wasn't even standard on the T/As yet in '96.

Did the car come w/ the original hatch too? That might put DrEvyl over the edge, LOL.
