It's not metal....but I'm not sure that it's fiberglass. I think it's some type of plastic. I know it's heavier than the aftermarket fiberglass hoods I've seen.

definately not metal. it's made out of the same stuff they make the doors and fenders with. I'm not sure if it's actually fiberglass, but it itches like crazy if you grind it up and get it on your skin.

Probably SMC (sheet molded compound), thats what the doors, and wing are made from. The front fenders are a different material, more flexible.

I was told by the dealer (All American Pontiac GMC) that it is in fact fiberglass, but it looks like it has some metal support braces underneath, but not sure on that last part.

Those people don't know ****! They had to call SLP to learn what the hell a Firehawk was and what options they install on those cars...F***ing idiots. I went there to show them that my passenger seat spring broke that lets it slide back and forth on the rail and showed them the mileage 30K that the car is under warranty and I told them that I will be back with my truck and the whole seat out of my car because there is no way they are touching it.

Hey...hey...hey...I never said that they were gods gift to Pontiacs, I just simply stated what they told me, and yes the are all f**king idiots up there now, the turn over rate has been so rapid, it's hard to keep up, but there was a guy about a year ago that was pretty good, but they are the closest place to take our cars for waranty work, but your right, you gotta stay on top of them, and I was in no way endorsing All American, I was just trying to answer the guys question...Hell to be honest I haven't found a good shop around here yet Sullivans Advanced Auto sucks Di*k too
